With two decades of experience under our belt, we have produced an array of curated experiences from large-scale global retail rollouts to living environments, gut renovations, and pop-up events. Residential.
Stewart-Schafer offers an unexpected approach to residential design, merging their love of travel and contemporary art with Scandinavian influences and Japanese-inspired undertones, resulting in truly timeless yet innovative spaces. Headquartered in both New York City and Connecticut, we have worked on homes across the country and utilize an extensive, nationwide network of vendors and freelancers for each project. We work closely with each client to bring their unique vision to life, while producing enduring value and guiding them through their home’s transformative process. Co-principal Christine Stucker leads the residential interior design department, leveraging her vast knowledge of Art History, interiors, and furniture design to produce sophisticated living spaces with lasting value.

With over 20 years of experience and an impressive breadth of knowledge in commercial interior design, we have a passion for transforming and adding immense value to retail spaces through bespoke design. As commercial architects, our strength lies in our ability to create innovative, memorable, and functional retail spaces while elevating our client’s brand identity. Our vast array of work includes large-scale nationwide rollouts to high-end boutiques, fashion shows, and pop-up events for the world’s top fashion brands. We have designed over 50 retail stores to date, and their unique design aesthetic is unparalleled. We’ve grown retail initiatives for fashion brands including Tommy John, and have a unique ability to scale each brand, so our designs can easily be integrated into any location in the world.
